Headache, Rib-ache, Goodnight!

It's been a while, Blogger.

It's been a while....

My 26-year-old body is decomposing before my eyes.

Which is weird, cuz I can't exactly see my whole body with my eyes unless I'm looking in a mirror, then I can see everything including my eyes!

Anyway, I've come here to report that my pain-in-the-left-side-rib is back.

So I'm kicking the Half-Marathon training plan to the curb. It is far more important to breathe without pain, so I must get back into the chlorine-infested waters (better than poop-infested) of the community pool  and swim my weekly laps.

I think I may have been trying to do too much with my days.

Morning Ashtanga.
Being walked by my dog.
Afternoon classes.
Running.
Night classes.
See the Strawberry Jam Boy so I don't forget his face.

Add in planning for Australia, swimming, and being the best House Cleaner in the world, I've got a headache.

I've taken one of my classes off my plate for tonight, so I'll have to pop the pills, power through the other, and then collapse. Hopefully my favorite donut in the whole world will be there to cushion the fall.

There is nothing wrong with cake for breakfast

I woke up sore from yesterday's easy 2 miles (stopping every 10 seconds to pee beneath a tree... yeah, I brought the dog. Longest 2 miles of my liiiiifffeeeee). I have been yearning for a non-Ashtanga non-yoga day, and feeling really guilty about it.

I ate cake for breakfast and went back to sleep.

And then I swam in the pool and forgave myself 10% for skipping Ashtanga, because at least I did something that set my breath to a regular rhythm, something where I exercised that equal measure determination, form, and meditation that Ashtanga requires.

Plus, swimming gives you this, "That was good for you," feeling.

Let's take that up to 15% forgiven.

After my swim, even my hips and legs felt looser, like I stretched them even though I didn't.

On a completely different note, I bought these babies a few days ago.

I had hoped to insult Jenbeans with this purchase. Maybe she'd see store-bought burgers as an insult to her culinary expertise. And proceed to make some AMAZING new gourmet veggie burger.

No such luck.

She thought it was a great idea. *sigh*

We fried them up tonight. Jen-sister made her own delicious olive pita, I made tzaziki and corn slaw. And it was delicious.

What are you eating for dinner tonight?

Running - week four

July 15 to July 21
Miles last week: 5.29
Miles this week: 10.25

Sunday
          It rained. A. Lot.

Not that rain should stop me from running. But digging out my gutter with bare hands and shoveling water out of my garage sure did. That's what friends are for, eh?

Monday
1.91 cool, wet miles in the morning.

Tuesday
The swimming pool is CLOSED!? What am I going to do about my back, my ribs, my condition, man?! HOW AM I EVER GOING TO GET BETTER IF YOU CAN'T GET YOUR POOL TO WOOORRRKKKK?!?!?!?

1.94 disappointed-about-the-pool miles in soupy, muggy heat.

Wednesday
850 meters in the pool. 1.17 miles on the pavement.

Thursday
Moon day today, and it certainly felt like it! All I wanted to do was cuddle my dog and eat chocolate cookies.

          So I did.

Friday
800 meters in the pool. 1.58 miles on the pavement, galloping with my little canine friend.

We ran the poop out of her. We ran the pee out of her. And then we ran the gallop out of her too. She's a puddle of hot dog now. :)

Saturday
1.35 miles with Steven at Steven-pace.

We ran the sleepy out of me. We ran the "good morning!" out of him. And then we ran the Steven-pace out of Steven. :)

Saturday afternoon
I felt so good after the run with Steven in the morning, that I did 2.3 with the dog in the afternoon. Breaks for water and belly rubs.
